My services

I've been sewing since I was a child.  I was lucky enough to take Needlework and Dress as an

O-level back in the 80s.  I have sewn wedding dresses, prom outfits, and First Holy Communion dresses so I am used to handling expensive fabrics.

Simple skirts for Beginner and Primary Grades or for School displays

Simple, wraparound, affordable skirts made in washable Trevira polyester twill.  Velcro waist giving an adjustable waist in a 4 inch range.  Skirts can be made in sizes 22 - 26 inches,

28 - 32 inches, 34- 38 inches.  Larger sizes can be arranged.  Although black is the usual colour, I can supply in many colours.  Please contact me for details.

I can embroider with a simple design in a range of colours.  Prices for OTR are £15 per skirt (you pick design from the  Embroidery for Skirts page and provide the colours you require).

Custom designs will be priced based on the amount of embroidery required.  If you require your school logo on the front flap, you will need to supply the embroidery files in PES format for a hoop no bigger than 260mm x 160mm.

A deposit of £5 per skirt is required and you will be sent a sample of the embroidery for approval before any further work is carried out.

New dress or Waistcoat

Using your measurements, I can make a dress or waistcoat from scratch.  You input on style, fabrics, colours etc.  I can do embroidery also.  I do not design embroidery.  You provide a digitised design suitable for my machine.  This cost needs to be factored in to your budget. as it is does not form part of my costs

Team dresses

Identical dresses for a ceili team?  No problem if ordered in good time

Take in a larger dress or let out a small dress

A large dress can often be taken in, sometimes by up to 4 inches, without spoiling the existing style.  A small dress can sometimes be let out depending on the size of the seams when originally made

Addition of new crystals and/or appliqués

Bling it your way.  Replace old, damaged crystals or add more.

Replace elements of an older dress

An older dress can sometimes be altered and brought "on-trend" by the addition of a new skirt and/or new sleeves.  If you have some of the original fabric, a new headband or cape
